Itchy, and cuts that won't heal

Hi. I have been experiencing this problem for almost a year already though it has subsided for a few months but the problem went on again. It started with a sore on my groin. I suspected it from using boxers at bedtime which were unwashed for a week or two until some itch occurred and rashes developed on my thighs, lower extremities even at my face and arms. Due to some forceful scratching, some cuts developed on my groin. Sometimes, fluid gets out from it leaving some brownish discolorations on my undies.I've already used antibacterials (tab or topical) but it didn't make it better. I've also consulted a doctor and gave me antihistamines and antibacterial lotion. It helped solve the rashes but itching was sill there specially when I feel diaphoretic/sweaty. Can someone help me with my problem? What is the best drug for this? Thanks.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be due to fungal infection, eczema or dermatitis skin. Since the lesion is moist so fungal infection can be a possibility and for ruling it out, you need to get a KOH examination of the skin scrapings done. If fungal infection is proved, then topical and oral antifungals may be needed. Fungal infections are contagious but dermatitis and eczema are not.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

I read somewhere about the same symptoms I've got and it was the same as pruritus or the itch-scratch-rash-itch cycle. I've also retrieved some measures to help heal the wounds or cuts. Here is it:

Do’s:
• Bathe with lukewarm water
• Lubricate skin frequently with rich moisturizers like Aquaphor or Crisco vegetable shortening
• Use a soapless cleanser like Eucerin Gentle Cleanser
• Maintain a comfortable room temperature
• Keep fingernails short and clean
• Wear light, smooth, nonbinding cotton clothing

Don’t:
• Wear rough, scratchy clothes or woolens
• Bathe too often with hot water and soap
• Use harsh skin cleansing products or soaps
• Use fragrances lotions or body washes

Special TEN STEP recipe for sensitive skin

1. Stop All soap to skin
2. Use only Eucerin Gentle cleanser or Cetaphil soapless cleanser to wash skin
3. Shower or bathe daily or every other day
4. Apply Aquaphor ointment to entire body within 5-10 minutes after drying off after showers or bathing
5. Re-apply Aquaphor ointment to dry skin 2-3 times a day
6. Use ALL Free and Clear detergent
7. No bleaches or fabric softeners
8. May consider double rinsing clothes
9. Take Benadryl every 6-8 hours as needed for severe itching
10. Apply Hydrocortisone cream or ointment ( Cortaid or Cortizone 10) to rash or itchy areas two to three times a day
