Itchy, painful pinhead size lucite water blisters

by Mucket, Feb 01, 2005 12:00AM
Four years ago I developed lucite water blister (tiny) on both legs, arms and top of back.  There was identical placement of outbreak on both legs and arms.  By scratching, the situation has been perpetuated.  There have been many diagnoses and treatment, some very questionable.  These open sores or now scabs
are now also on my chest, abdomen, and face.  I don't even want to leave the house for others to have to see this.  There have been varied possible diagnosis: possible discoid lupus, blood work testing positive for lupus, but women frequently show a false positive in testing for lupus, biopsies for pymphaoid and pymhagus.  All biopsies have just shown an inflamation (inflammation) diagnosis.
One DR asked if I had bed bugs.  Another DR prescribed doxepin and when that did not help, prescribed orap, which I would not agree to take and because I would not, he discharged me from his care.  Yesterday, itchy red bump syndrome was diagnosed.  Treatment prescribed was (1) phototherapy (i.e. UVB), (2) cyclopine, (3) cortomide but before any of this is prescribed,
DR suggested my regular Drs. evaluate for internal causes (ie
CXR, LFT, Renal question, TSH.)  \
Does this last opinion seem like I am now on track and have done all that I can do to get a diagnois?

Thank you.

Yes, I think you've done all you can or need to get a diagnosis.  I think UVB light treatments might be worth a try.  I will add that the only way you can get open scabs is to pick at things.  You need to stop picking.  If you can't, there are medications like Celexa which might help.  You should ask your dermatologist about these.  (I don't know what cyclopine is.)

Best.
