Itchy, rash on penis

I have a very intense but transient itch on the shaft of my penis and upper scrotum.  Has been about a week now.  Top of penis has a few small red dots while underside appears very bumpy, inflamed, and a bit red.  Also itching behind right ear lobe and on a knuckle on my right hand (with a tiny bug-bite-like sore there).  No, burning urination, no discharge, no odor.  Before these symptoms began I'd had sex at least twice with my girlfriend after she had a yeast infection but only after we thought she had cured it.  Have been using clotrimazole 1% mixed with a few drops of vinegar for a few days now with mixed results.  It helps the burn/itch for a few hours but all symptoms return eventually.  I noticed a couple of other posts here were very similar, right down to he ear lobe and knuckle.  What might this be?  STD?  Yeast Infection?  The itching is worst at night.

This discussion is related to Itchy penis rash, i think with very small outbreaks elsewhere.

Thanks for the post.  The rash cleared up about a week ago.  I saw a doctor who prescribed Econazole 1% Nitrate Cream.  However, I had been using Clotrimazole 1% for a week prior to getting the Econazole.  The Econazole didn't help the itch at all so I stayed with the Clotrimazole.  I might not have given the Econazole enough time but I had already been on the Clomitrazole regimen, so I stayed with it.  The Clomitrazole seemed to treat the symptoms and the condition itself better.  The doc thinks it was a fungal infection, possibly yeast from my girlfriend.  Anyway, not sure if it was because I had started with Clomitrazole, but it seemed to work better than the Econazole.  Thanks again.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
From the symptoms it can be a fungal infection but if it presents as bite like lesions, then scabies needs to be ruled out as it presents with itching mostly at night. Diagnosis of scabies is made by scraping the skin and viewing the material under a microscope to see the characteristic mite or eggs.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
