Itchy Painful Rash on upper leg

by Brinoah77, Nov 10, 2008 04:34PM
Good afternoon. I was wondering if anyone could give me some insite on my rash. I have developed a several rashes on my right upper leg. Starts with itching, then bumps appear, then turns into pain in that area, like someone punched me. Now my upper leg hurts like my muscles are hurting. I have tried Hydrcortozone cream, with no prevail. The 1st patch of rash is starting to look like a black and blue rash, with small "old" looking bumps. When I rub against it, it feels like a sunburn as well. I have 1 quarter size patch, then several smaller areas, but just as painful. No other area is affective and the pain in only in my upper leg, thigh area. Any ideas?

Hi,

This could be allergic reactions to unknown substances, skin hypersensitivity, eczema, dermatitis or insect/bug bites or even folliculitis.

Do you notice the lesions trigerred in response to a specific stimulus like sun exposure, some substance related to your work place?

You should try to keep the area dry and clean. Try some powder to absorb the sweat.

Apply calamine lotion at the site and take some oral antihistamine medications like loratadine or cetrizine for your complaints. You should wash all your linen and bed clothing once in an antibacterial solution and sun dry it.

Those red spots could be chery angiomas.

If the symptoms are still persistent, consult your dermatologist and get a proper clinical evaluation done.

Let us know if you have any doubts and keep us posted on how you are doing.

Good luck.
