Itchy Rash on breasts

Hi everyone...I'm a 28 year old female in good health. I don't have medical insurance and have to wait until next week to see a doctor I can afford...

About one week ago I started having a rash on my left breast. It is not under the breast where you would sweat. It is on the side and top. When it itches, it is INSANELY itching. I can literally bruise from the itching. It's on the nipple and around it....a raised red area where you can see the border of the rash. It has just started on my right breast but it's not as bad as the left breast.

I have been using hydrocortisone prescription cream and it doesn't help. The itching isn't 24/7, but it's frequent throughout the day. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance =]

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Without examination confirmation of a diagnosis is tough, but it can be due to fungal infections. Most cases of fungal infections respond to over-the-counter products, which contain any of several basic ingredients: miconazole, tolnaftate, terbinafine, ketaconazole and clotrimazole. You can consult a pharmacist and get any cream or lotion containing these ingredients. Some of them are Lamisil, Monistat derm, Mycelex, and Nizoral.

If the symptoms persist then pls consult a dermatologist. Then paget’s disease of the nipple also has to be ruled out.

Hope it helps. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or in case you have additional queries. Kind regards.
