Itchy after possible exposure

Itchy after possible exposure

Hi everyone I posted this in the HIV forum as well - any thoughts?
Hi everyone, I have waited long after I believe to get tested - 6 months - rapid test negative - after an exposure with a hiv girl. I normally shave my chest every couple of months or so, but right after the exposure I started having an itchy chest, after I shave again the itch goes away for a couple of weeks. This has been 6 months now off and on. I just have never have had this problem before. Saw my dermo, don't have any answers for me. I also got tested for syphilis - negative. Does this sound like an ARS rash or have anything to do with another STD? Any help would be cool. I just don't know what else I should do. Thnx.

Hello,
I don’t think that the itchy rashes that you had on your chest are related to HIV infection. Hiv rashes presents as opportunistic infections by bacteria, skin or viruses and other prodromal features of HIV are also present alongwith. From your symptoms, it can be contact dermatitis, fungal infections or viral rashes. Take some antihistaminic like Benadryl or Claritin and apply some calamine lotion on the rashes. If the symptoms persist then topical or oral steroids may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case.

I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
