Itchy bumps

About a month ago i noticed one or two bumps on my butt that itched. I assumed they were bug bites and ignored them. Now there is probably 1 to 2 dozen of them on my butt, and thighs. A couple in between my fingers, legs, and stomach. They are red, feel like bug bites, and when i itch them they get larger. Other wise they stay small. It has been spreading and they are REALLY itchy.

These symptoms can be due to contact dermatitis, viral rashes or scabies bites. Scabies is an infestation of the skin with the Sarcoptes scabiei mite and is highly contagious. It is characterized by intense itching, usually at night and by small insect-type bites lesions on the skin. Diagnosis of scabies is made by scraping the skin and viewing the material under a microscope to see the characteristic mite or eggs.
