Itchy eye, forehead and scalp

Hello. My left eye starting tearing and I had pain around my eyelashes. Then my forehead, around my left eye and a small portion of my scalp became very itchy - burns when I scratch it. There are NO visible signs of a problem but it is very itchy. I saw my Dr. who prescribed me eye drops and augmentin. She thought it was a bacterial infection. I have been on the meds for almost a week with NO relief. My skin and eye look fine but the itching is unbearable. I also can't sleep on the left side of my face...it feels like little needles are poking me. This has been going on for about 2 weeks. It hasn't spread  to any other part of my body. My left eye gets itchy and when I rub it, it burns and my membranes become inflamed. Like I said, it's just one eye and not so much the eye and the eyelashes around it. I am also 3 months pregnant. Have you been assessed by an ophthalmologist?

Differentials here will be an allergic reaction ,a viral or bacterial conjunctivitis and seborrheic dermatitis. Have you noticed any greasy scaling over the scalp? Over the eyelids, have you noted any scales which seems to affect the base of eye lashes?
A fungal infection may also be a differential.

Do you have any known allergies before?

If the symptoms persist despite a complete physical examination and medications and without any visible manifestations of disease like a rash or redness, I would suggest a consult with a neurologist to rule out a nerve related problem.

Thank you SO much for responding. I went to my GP and she thought it was a bacterial infection - no relief from meds.

I have no known allergies.
I was treated for bacterial infection - no relief.
There are no visible problems with my skin or eyes except two small bumps/pimples that I think were caused by my constant scratching.
No scaling or oily patches on face or scalp.
My eye seems to be fine just pain around my eyelashes - also no visible signs of a problem such as scaling or dried stuff around the eyes or lashes.
Looking at me, it doesn't look like anything is wrong, although the itching is unbearable and I'm constantly scratching.
The itchy part is around my eyes, temple, forehead and small part of the scalp - all connected, on the left side of my face and hasn't spread to any other area or gotten bigger.

I have been experiencing similar symptoms on right side of my forehead, above hairline and eyelid for five days now.  Lymph nodes in neck on right side appear swollen too.  Any suggestions?
