Itchy skin all over, no rash

Hello, I'm experiencing a very annoying problem. For the past few weeks my skin has been itching but there has been no visible rash or any other kind of unusual marks. It's all over my body, but worse on my arms, legs, scalp, face, shoulder, and neck. It's not particularly worse any time of day. Sometimes it's less of an itch and more like a mild sunburn, but again, without any rash or redness. I've been to my doctor three times for this so far, and he has come up with nothing. He's done blood tests and said everything was normal. He put me on a course of methylprednisolone, but I'm almost near the end of my dose pack and it has made no difference. My doctor said he doesn't think it's anything serious, which is wonderful for him, but I still have to live with this itch! Could it be an allergy? I haven't been eating or drinking anything lately that I haven't been for most of my life, and I haven't changed soaps or anything like that. And I'm not on any medication. Otherwise, I'm a perfectly healthy, 30 year old male with no history of health problems.

Anyone have any ideas what this is and what to do about it? This is pretty urgent because I'm going on vacation in a week and I don't want to ruin the only vacation I get all year by itching my way through it. I tried to get an appointment with a dermatologist, but I can't get one before my trip.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks!!!

I have had blood work biopsy and i just started light treatment. Hopefully you can try a dermatologist and they can b more of help.
