Itchy skin rash?

Itchy skin rash?

I have a rash and I dont know what it is?? It started on my elbow and it was a patch of red bumps and then a few others around the area, the next day it spread to little light red/skin colored itchy bumps pretty much all over. Mainly they are on my arms, hands, legs, and ankles. They itch like crazy and it has been 3 days and I feel like it's not getting any better. Some on my hands seem to have dots in the middle that make them look like mosquito bites. Doesnt seem to be hives because they are small blisters not larger than pencil eraser size. Could it still be an allergic reaction to something?

Hello,

From your symptoms there is a possibility that either this rash is due to a viral infection or scabies. It is characterized by intense itching, usually at night and by small insect-type bites lesions on the skin. Diagnosis of scabies is made by scraping the skin and viewing the material under a microscope to see the characteristic mite or eggs.

I hope it helps. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
