I have had an itchy rash for quite some time now and it won't go away. The dr. said its not scabbies but still prescribed scabbie solution. It did not work. I called a friend of mine that had the same problem. He said that it was sand flees. He said the only way he got rid of them was using Dog dip. It is used to kill flees on dogs. You delute it in water and bathe in it for ten minutes. wash your hair also in it. What should I do...?
Scabies is an infestation of the skin with the Sarcoptes scabiei mite. It is characterized by intense itching, usually at night and by small insect-type bites lesions on the skin. Diagnosis of scabies is made by scraping the skin and viewing the material under a microscope to see the characteristic mite or eggs.
Please elaborate more on the description of rash and the symptoms so that a list of differentials can be made.
I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep us posted in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
