Itchy white spots on the breast

by sol100, May 07, 2008 10:12AM
I am a 30 year old woman, (not pregnant), and I have small white itchy spots with a red outline on my left breast and would like to know what this is.  I recently had a cold sore on my lip. Could this also be herpes or something else? I can't get an appointment with my doctor for a week and am worried. Any advice appreciated.

Hi,

This could be an allergic reaction to some unknown substance or dermatitis or eczema.
Even tinea infection needs to be ruled out.

You need to wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products use a medicated sunscreen whenever you go out.

Apply calamine lotion at the site of the lesions and see if it helps. You could take some oral antihistamine medications like cetrizine or loratadine.

It would be advisable to consult a skin specialist for your symptoms and a proper clinical examination.

Let us know if you need any other information and post us on how you are doing.

Regards.
