I can use your medical expertise in my never ending problem. OK, About a month ago (maybe 3 weeks) I shaved my pubic hair, under my testicles, on my testicles, under the area towards the anus.
I also shave my shoulders, back, neck, stomach, chest... I usually do this every month or so with never real problems other than maybe a few pimples on my shoulders that always went away.
Now after I shaved on a Saturday I had sex twice with a condom over the weekend. I did receive oral sex. (without condom) In the next few days (by Monday), I saw red spots on my shaft area, not too worried for the reason I thought it was from shaving & irritation so I left it alone. Then I started to think it was Herpes & purchased some Herpes ointment Daily something over the net. At the same time I was starting to work out again & doing crunches on my bed, lifting my legs to my stomach (a new routine), I notice major rubbing from the testicles to the sides of my groin.
After the pimples started to fade on my shaft I noticed irritation on my left side between my groin and inner thigh, the crease fold area. That broke out but was still not that bad, (red pimples) still thinking this was from shaving, I may have trimmed there, not very sure. Eventually my entire groin was infected, the skin folds now on both sides, pimples in clusters on my testicles, well more like raised red patches, some on the side of my penis shaft, in the groin pubic area and down around my anus.
It itched and hurt bad when I walked. The sides blistered open & cracked so I went to go see a Urologist. He told me it was not Herpes or anything like that and was Jock Itch. He told me to use Tinactin in the evenings and in the morning to wash and use Gold Balm. Also use Ivory soap, no anti bacterial soap. I did this for almost a week and the folds got better but then I noticed these large like boils that were huge, like the size of a half dollar on my thighs, one on my butt, and small ones scattered all over my inner thigh towards my knee. I had about 10 of these and I knew something was wrong when they appeared every day and they were huge, painful, & I then saw red lines under the skin so I went back today to the Dr. He saw it and told me that I had a fungal infection initially probably from the shaving & getting it irritated. These boil types were something different, He said I have a staff infection (staphylococcus) and he gave me 500mg of Cephalexin and to take it 4x a day. He told me that the bacteria got into my blood stream, my groin lymph nodes were swollen as well. At this point I was shocked and scared.
I have more boils on my lower stomach & on my lower back, I am so afraid they will hit my face soon. Is this a underlying infection? I looked all over the net and I hope this is not a sign of HIV or AIDS!?!? I did have unprotected sex about 3 years with a woman that I knew and since had protected sex with oral. What is going on? Is this common? WHould appreciate your input! Thank you Doc

Your doctor knows what he's doing. Both fungus and bacteria are common, and getting them implies nothing about your immune system, etc. Shaving may be causing this, though of course you've shaved before. Most of the time such conditions are in fact not transmitted person-to-person. If the problem recurs, you may want to consider not shaving or else perhaps lasering away the hair so you won't have to. Meantime, follow the doctor's instructions, which sound quite correct.

How could this be nothing about my immune system when these boils are popping up all over the place, it must be a weakened immune system. I am not questioning you or my Dr. but since I have never ever had anything like this before its quite tramatic. Once it is in your blood stream, the staff infection that is, how long will this subside with antibiotics? Do I need to go to the hospital? I read things on boils and staff and the info. I get off the web is very scary.

I saw my doctor today and assured me that I do indedd have a staff infection. He gave me more doses of Cephalexin 500mg 4x a day. He also told me to get Lever 2000 soap (anti-bacterial) and use daily?... Does that make sense?
My questions are this:
1. Can this staff infection ever be knocked out of my system?
2. Will this be a chronic plague I will have to deal with for the rest of my life?
3. Is there any other precautions I can take so I do not have these boils pop up all over my body?
My Dr. said if I ever get a flare up he can give me oral antobiotics, it could opo up in a month or 5 years, is this like Herpes? WIll Ialways have this infection in my body?

I've been digging all over the net trying to find more information about this infection. I got it about 2 weeks ago and its a nightmere.
I found several forums were people have/had this infection within the last year and are still having problems getting rid of it.
