Jock itch

I seem to get jock itch and can not get it to go away. I am not overweight and try to keep the area dry. I have used various creams and powders. Lamisil knocks it down but it never completly goes away. If I stop the daily Lamisil it flars right back. What are your thoughts on what else I can do.

Hello,
For jock itch, Wash your groin daily and then dry thoroughly by pat drying, not rubbing. A hairdryer is useful if you have hairy groins. The damp groin is an ideal site for fungi to multiply. Also wear cotton underwear and change them twice a day and do not share other people’s towels. Application of local antifungal cream(terbinafine, clotrimazole, econazole, ketoconazole, miconazole) and oral antifungal drugs are the mainstay of treatment. You can consult a pharmacist and get any cream or lotion containing these ingredients.

If the symptoms are severe then please get it evaluated from a dermatologist.

I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

I'm having trouble with similar problem. I would get tested to make sure it is a fungal infection you're dealing with.  I unsuccessfully tried anti-fungal cream and all sorts of jock-itch remedies before finding out my rash wasn't fungal.  I'm guessing mine could instead be psoriasis or eczema, but I'm lost at the moment.

Try a gluten free diet.  This can relieve fungal infections of the skin in many people.  Hope this helps.
