Juvenile Xanthograuloma

Juvenile Xanthograuloma

My grandchild has been diagnosed as having this condition.  My daughter noticed the first signs after my grandchild had recovered from chicken pox.  We have learned that it must just run it's course and it will disappear.  I have questions...
1.  Does anyone know what causes this condition?
2.  Is it contagious, my daughter bathes her children (3 under the age of 6) together at times?
3.  Can there be any serious side effects?

This is a peculiar but unimportant condition.  It does indeed run its course.  Cause is unknown.  It is not contagious, and is not associated with any internal medical problems.

Best wishes on beong a grandparent.
