Keloid vs. Hypertrophic scar

I have a scar on my wrist due to a recent cut with a razor. It is raised, discolored, and itchy. I read that keloid scars reach outside of the boundaries of the initial wound. Do they mean vertically (raised up) or horizontally (to other areas of skin)? This will help me in determining what type of scar I have.
