Keratosis or Condylona

by pillsbury, Nov 17, 2007 08:51PM
Dr. Rockoff, I recently seen dark brown(smooth surface) single, small bump on penis shaft. I went to derm and he said was EITHER condylona but most likely seborrhic keratosis. He froze it off. When I was leaving office and paid copay, I seen my chart and it had viral warts underlined. I will say my whole life my penis shaft has been very bumpy, like little pus filled pockets, and all doctors say is sebaceous glands and peraly papules on tip. FYI, I was using desonide for 2 months prior to this.

Here are my questions:

1- Should I just move on and assume it was keratosis since doctor said he thinks and quote"most likely" keratosis?

2- Is it possible(or likely) to have a single wart if in monogamous relationship for 8 years? and dont they mostly occur in clusters and look like cauliflower?

3. He also said inner thighs folliculitis as i was complianing about rash and m penis feels a little raw too? what can i do about that

4. if i run into any other problems, should i see another derm who will give me precise answers

5. if it is warts caused by hpv, wouldnt my wifes pap smear just 2 weeks before came back abnormal??

Thanks!

1.  As to why your doctor told you he thought it was a keratosis but coded it for a wart, you will need to ask him that directly, since he is the only one who saw it (other than you.)

2.  Warts can be single, not in groups, so that isn't decisive.  Warts can be latent for years before you see them.  That doesn't mean I think what you have is a wart--I can't tell you that.  Only the doctor who saw the bump can have a useful opinion.

3.  Even if you had a wart, all you need to do is what you already did--get it taken off and make sure that your wife gets Pap smears tested.  Again, even if it was a wart does not by any means mean that your wife has to have an abnormal Pap smear, now or ever.

4.  Folliculitis is best ignored.  It's common in the groin.

5.  The other bumps and shriveled scrotum are probably normal variations that you're noticing now that you're anxious.  Ask a dermatologist you feel comfortable with to look at them and tell you you're OK.

Best.

Also, I noticed on right side of penis by base if not a little inward into base, there is a hard lump under skin on penis, more noticeable when erect. Does not hurt and I am sure unrelated to other issues, but it feels like a cyst? I just found it, naturally i have been completely freaking out.

Sorry to keep adding, but I also wanted to know if you are aware of any reason why the skin on my scrotum is tightened up very bad(shriveled and penis is shriveled also when scroutm is and is making skin on scrotum very itchy and irritable when constricted, in morning it feels ok as scrotum is normal. Could this be symptom of some sort of internal infection or anything else you have ever came across? I am going to go see primary physician again, but wanted your insight to this also.
