Large Red Spot

Hi,

I had a fairly large red spot appear on my forehead which was just red with no head on. It was a little sore but nothing too serious. I wash my face twice a day morning and night. I'd bee using sudocream on it to help with the soreness. The soreness seems to have gone but the redness is still there and its been 5 days now. It looks like there is a spot still on the surface of the skin but when I feel my forehead it feels smooth and fine.

Doen anyone know what it could be? An infection of some sort? Should I be using something else to get rid of it instead of the sudocrem? Just having it for 5 days is embarrassing enough but surely it should start to go away by now?

Can anyone help?

Many Thanks

Paul

Hello,
The symptoms are suggestive of dermatitis skin. Avoid using any lotions and creams over the face for the meantime. Wash your face with a mild cleanser with moisturizing properties like Cetaphil. Pat your face dry. Then apply a good hypoallergenic moisturizer over the area and see if this improves. If the symptoms still persist then you can apply mild steroid.

If the irritation persists then please get it evaluated from a dermatologist. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

Hi,
thanks for query. The spot can be there due to some contact allergy or insect bite. Any moisturizer is fine for it; please also take anti allergic tablet along with it. Do not rub anything on it. If there are no other spots any where, there is no reason to worry.

Wishing you good health.
