Laser treatment Under Eye Dark Cirle

I have dark circles around my eyes. My dad and paternal uncle and his sons and daughters, all have the same problem. I am fair complexioned and so the dark circles are most evident in me. I can go for any treatment, whatever it is to remove these ugly circles around my eyes. I think the most aggressive treatment can be laser for these. Can you please discuss the positives and the negatives of this modality of treatment? What type of laser is used for this problem? Is it permanent or more or less temporary type of treatment. You can explain me in medical terminology as I am also a doctor.
