Hi,
I am 27 year old. I started to see these red spots you are talking about right after giving birth to my so, at the age of 22. Doctors could not determine what it is, and it took them about 2 years to diagnos me with LCV (lycositoclastic vasculitic). then it took them another year to try medications. There are 4 types of medications that helped, and reduces the frequency of the spots appearance. the first is colchicine taken 2 aday, predinisone (only at severe rushes) 10 mg once a day for 1 week, ranatidine twice a day, claritine!!! it is knnown to be an alergic reaction, but no 1 knows to what. using those medications i have reduced the frequency from every day to once a month, twice a year and even longer... now i got the rush yesterday after 2 years!!! yes, the medications help, but you have to search yourself what type of food inhence the rush even more. for me; orange, lemons, chocolate and red wine do it. try to see what you eat and if you get a rush after that particular food. this will reduce the frequency. but, just so you know, it will never go away, it will only delay appearance!
Good luck'
Olga
I had vasculitis, and after 5 weeks trying to find out what it is, and 5 weeks of active treatment on prednisone (with an additional 5 week weaning period), I can happily say I am in the clear. I have some residual scarring and hyperpigmentation, and the occasinaly itch/sharp pain, but other than that...
did you ever get yours sorted out?
Drug induced LVasculitis should clear, but then the drug gets attached to the proteins and takes time to clear. You will soon get recovery being treated effectively.
