Lip Problem

HI,

I had a problem on my lips for some time now. I have noticed that on the lower right side of my lip I have a red mark it looks like a birthmark also on that same side on the line of my lip I have something that looks like a pimple white however it never goes away. I also think that this side of my lip is a little bigger than the left side of my bottom lip. What is it? what should I do? who should I see about this? Thank you so much for your help.

The dark colored spot on lip could be oral melanotic macule and the white bump raises the possibility of Fordyce spots. Oral melanotic macule is a non-cancerous (benign), dark spot found on the lips or inside the mouth. A biopsy has to be done and laser treatment is the main treatment option. Fordyce spots are small yellowish-white granules on the inner surface and border of the lips.
Treatment of Fordyce spots includes CO2 laser or electro desiccation, TCA chemical peels(temporary treatment),diathermy or laser vaporization.
