Lip Rash

Lip Rash

It seems as though I am allergic to any kind of lip stick or lip gloss. After applying, my lips get really irritated and burn. For days thereafter, I have little red patches on my lips - almost like sun burn. I've literally tried every type of product out there and they pretty much all do the same thing. Is there any particular ingredient in lip gloss or lip stick that causes this kind of allergic reaction / irritation?? Possibly to avoid in other brands??

Hello,
Without investigations, it is very difficult to predict which ingredient of lipsticks can be one allergic to. Diagnosis of allergy can be done by skin ***** tests and patch tests. In this a little amount of allergen is injected into the skin of the forearm by a doctor. The skin is closely watched for signs of a reaction, which include swelling and redness. Confirmatory diagnosis is by blood tests (RAST).

I suggest you to consult an allergist and get these tests done.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
