Lip allergy or infection

Hi there,

Over the past few months I have been suffering with extremely dry lips, although I apply plenty of lip balm both Vaseline and bees wax. I had also experienced some minuscule bumps on my lips that were very sensitive- when I washed my lip or dried them with a cloth a clear fluid would weep from them. Although this was only a small amount.

Fast forward to a few days ago, I woke up with a blister on my lip and my lips were swollen and releasing a lot of this clear fluid - from all over my lips, not just the blister. I also had a rash around the lining of my lips.

The day after, I woke up to extreme swelling and a number of yellow blisters on my lips. My lips release this clear pus like fluid constantly. My lips become yellow and crusty in the mornings - I usually clean the with a cotton pad soaked in salt water. After this they begin to weep again. I am in a lot of pain with this, I have lost my apatite and I'm out of work because of the severity of the swelling and blisters. My lips constantly feel like they're burning and sometimes become extremely itchy.

I read a lot about it online and I have tried everything over the counter but because I am afraid it's due to an allergic reaction I just use plain Vaseline. I don't lick my lips and they haven't been exposed to the sun. I'm drinking litres of water every day and nothing seems to help. I went to see my doctor who unsure of what was wrong. I was prescribed steroids, antibiotics and elocon cream for my lips. The cream has made the swelling decrease a small amount but apart from that nothing is helping. Since using the cream the rash around the lining of my lips has become significantly worse.

I'm desperate to get a diagnosis and a treatment that works for this as I haven't even left my house since the extreme swelling began and due to the pain it's causing. I don't know what to do next.

I'm a 21 year old female and I don't smoke.
