Lip blisters, tingling/ burning and swelling

About 12 days ago I noticed my bottom lip started to swell.  I had just used a new lipstick, the kind that stains the lips then you put on a clear coat. I have been using this type for many months. The lip was stinging, & burning along with the swelling.  I also thought this was a reaction to some antibiotics I was on. I have never had this happen before. Now, 12 days later my lips are not swelled but they still have blisters that burn, even water from the shower burns them.  I have used carmex & other lip balms but they burn too, now I am using a Vit E gel capsule which helps some.  I don't have any blisters in the corners of my mouth.  I also took Benadryl for several days with no change. Inside my lip was also getting cuts, like the lip was very tight & stretching to rip.  The lip feels like sandpaper. What could this be?

Anything I put on my lips now burns.  Vaseline, & a vit. E stick too.  Now the blisters seem to be going lower inside the lip and the lower lips still looks a bit swelled. I did take a benadryl this morning.  Now I am wondering could this be caused from drinking out of aluminum glasses. I got some several weeks ago. They are very cold to the lips and I thought it would help with swelling. How long do you think these blisters will last? Thank you

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
It looks like an allergic reaction or contact dermatitis to the lipstick. Drink plenty of water and take multivitamin supplements and do not apply lipstick or other cosmetic products for some days. Use a humidifier to moisturize the air in your home and apply shea butter or Vaseline on your lips. Kepp on taking antihistaminics like Benadryl or Claritin. You may need topical steroids or oral therapy of corticosteroids in severe cases. Topical creams like tacrolimus ointment (Protopic) and pimecrolimus cream (Elidel) are also useful. Please consult a dermatologist in that case as they are available by prescription.
I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
