Little dark pointy stuff on my face

I am a black man in my 40's. I started noticing these tiny black pimple-like stuff or growth on my face when I became a teen. Back then, I used to be mad with these condition and would pick them apart with a pin or nail clippers. I was not successful getting rid of them. They have become more prominent on my face now and there are a lot more of these around my eyes, temple and forehead.
What exactly is this condition? Is there a cure for these? Please let me know.
