Long Term Rashes?

by HM4336, Sep 30, 2006 12:00AM
I had a rash start on my hip about 5 months ago. I thought nothing of it and just made sure to keep it bandaged and sterilized. It started off as a swollen bump that almost looked like an insect bite, and itched like crazy. It started getting worse and I found myself uncontrollably scratching it, like in my sleep. Now it has spread to the other hip, it's very painful, I keep it covered and put ointment on it everyday, and shower constantly, but it just keeps getting worse. There is a part that has healed finally and it's nothing but scarred skin, and still itches! If anyone knows anything that might help it would be very very useful.

You should really get this checked. This rash seems as if it is symptomatic of some other condition (e.g. allergy) or illness.
This is not likely to just go away.
Good luck.

I have had a rash for six months now, extremely itchy and sort of comes and goes in different areas.  Doc finally diagnosed me with "Grover's Disease".  Might want to check into that via biopsy.  I still don't know if I believe that diagnosis though and am going to another derm next week for another biopsy.
Hope this helps!
