Loss of outer 1/3 of eyebrows

Loss of outer 1/3 of eyebrows

I noticed this afternoon that my little brother (he is 12) was missing the outer 1/3 of his eyebrows. I immediately assumed that perhaps he was bullied or something and they were plucked/waxed/shaved or something, but he maintains that he didn't know what happened to them. Assuming he's not lying to me, (and I have asked repeatedly, so I doubt he is), is there any reason that this could have happened unintentionally? He mentioned that they were itchy the past few days, so maybe he had rubbed them off, but there was no redness, so that seemed a little extreme. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

is your brother a bit obsessive compulsive? there is a condition called trichtomania where it is a compulsion to pick or pull hair out.

the test for that condition is easily done. Ask for T3 and T4 and NOT TSH. Insist on it. If he has a thyroid condition insist on Natural Armour thyroid rather than the synthetic brands - they are harmful.

i am not a doctor, this is just my personal experience advice.

good luck.
