Lotrisone Penis

I get a few red spots on the head of my penis that feel dry.  If I do not do anything about it they get bigger and more red.  I have been tested for several things including herpes 1&2 several times.  I do not have herpes. I have tried elidel? over the counter cortisone, plain clotromizole and several antifungal. Nothing seems to help except lotrisone.  I also get red patches on left or right side of testicles which I think is a seperate issuse but again only thing that works is Lotrisone. Within 1 or 2 days of using Lotrisone its gone.  Now on sides of penis get little red raw looking after activity. So I put little lotrisone on it and next day or 2 gone.  I used Lotrisone on my penis on and off for just over a year.  Mainly just on the head of my penis and just below the head. Im afraid the skin is just little thinner gets slightly raw after activity and im in this cycle of using lotrisone for 2-4 days a month to clear it up.  I'm going to stop using lotrisone even though its like a miricle cream to me lol.  If I have thinned the skin on my penis will it eventually heal itself even after this long of use?  Will betemethsone shrink the head? Can I continue to use lotrisone the way I am? sorry for my grammer, typing skills and long post  Thank you

I was curious if you were able resolved your issue? Ironically, I have the same exact thing. Initially I was using Mycolog to treat it, but it would come back. Now mycolog is ineffective to 1 specific area. My PCP recently me gave a prescription for Lotrisone and I'll be giving it a try.

Hello,
Fortunately, thinning of the skin from steroids is reversible and will improve after the steroids are stopped. But please use the cream as directed by the dermatologist and not on your own will. Using it will not cause any shrinkage of the head of the penis.
I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and God bless.

Thinning of the skin from steroids is NOT reversible. Maybe it can on thicker cutaneous skin, but not on thin (especially mucosal) areas of male genitalia. Nothing I have ever read suggests this. Never use lotrisone or any potent steroid on genitals or the face.

I did go to the doctor they gave the the lotrisone.  I will go again.  My question is though if I have thinned the skin after this long of use, will the skin repair itself if I stop using it.  Can I continue to use lotrisone the way I described in my post?  Few days out of each month. I will go to the dermatologist again but I vaule your opinion on my questions.  Will the steroid cream shrink the head of the penis?

Hello,
Using steroid creams is not without side effects and long use of this can cause thinning of the skin. You should not use Lortisone on your own but firstly get the diagnosis confirmed. It can be rash due to friction rub, eczema or psoriasis.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist and get a biopsy skin done. Treatment can be started only when the diagnosis is confirmed. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
