Lump Behind my Ear

I have a small lump growing behind my ear. I have to say Im a bit concerned. Its bigger than a pea and smaller than a walnut, maybe the size of a small marble.

Its feels rather sore and warm which makes me think its some type of pus filled internal skin infection. Well, I hope its not a tumor.

The problem here is I have no health insurance and practically no money.

So Im not really sure what to do. The lump has been noticeable for about a week, but I dont really feel like its getting smaller or going away, and it the whole area around it is becoming sore.

Any suggestions appreciated, thanks.

No, this is behind my ear, below the lobe. I guess its really more on my neck.

Should I go to a clinic, find a dermatologist, go to the ER? Im not sure what to do.

Im in Brooklyn, NY by the way.

Hi.
The lump behind your ear (post-auricular area) could be a lymph node.
A palpable lymph node could signify an infection near the area of that lymph node.
Do you have other symptoms like ear pain, ear discharge, etc?
It is best to have yourself seen by a doctor for evaluation and management.
Good luck.
