Lump on top lip

I have had a lump on my top lip for 9 days. It is not open, is not a blister and has not been crusty but is tender. It is not a cold sore because I have had one before. I am 46 years old and a non-smoker and non-drinker. I am worried it may be cancerous.

Thank you for your reply. I have been to my dentist who has examined my lip. There is a burst blood vessel there and the lump has subsided quite a lot. It is being reviewed next week and I have an appointment with my dermatologist at the beginning of November.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
This lump can be a fever blister, small cyst, hematoma, mucocele (if present on the inside of lower lip) or a benign growth of the lips. Since the lump is not changing in size, all these possibilities need to be evaluated.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
