Lumps on top of fingers by first joint and nail bed

Okay. Unlike others my lumps do not get blisters or even red if I don't rub them. I notice a bump on my thumb first, to side, top of joint, and it kind of hard. Then I noticed other fingers which had them also, all are on top edge of joint, and they burn or prickle under the skin at times. They also seem to get smaller and bigger but some just stay the same. I have had many ganglion's and still do. These are definitely not ganglion cyst. One of my fingers the right ring finger has a sensitivity to end of finger like I banged it or something just hurts inside. Doctor had no idea wanted to give me something for pain, said no as it is just minimal pain. Yet, when I search online all can see blisters or really raised areas, or rashes. Mine are invisible unless you are looking for it, and only painful sometimes though I get a feeling of slight discomfort that can not be directly targeted to the areas always. I have to get a referral to see dermatologist yet I seem to always get the one thing they cannot figure out.
I have noticed the bumps or lumps for approx one week, I suspect they might of been there longer. I use my hands a lot, I drive a bus, do crafts and type a lot. There was one bump only which headed at edge of cuticle, and turned into what looked like a tiny white then red head then it went down leaving a tiny red dot. That is only one which looked like a head at all and in different location then rest of them. Others also seem to have a rougher skin on top but not all. I am female and would like your opinion please. I have a cat and a bird, I don't handle the bird he bites.
There are a couple of things happening which may or may not be related but I would rather you had the information. I was sick a few weeks ago and it has gotten to my chest with thick mucous and coughing, took antibiotic but still not better. I also have had in last few months a sensitivity to some sounds sometimes which gives me a cringe like reaction in my head which is involuntary. Like when you hear a loud noise only it is like nerves reacting to it not my ears. Also I have in past and just the other day have one patch on lower top arm which gets what looks like poison ivy at first, gets deep red and purple and turn to blisters that go away fast. Also I am allergic to dust mites and other things but occasionally I get unexplained red itchy sparse bumps which go away in a day or two on arms and torso.
Hope this does not confuse the issue, the fingers is my concern but lack of information for you to review was my fear.

I have also searched and searched rash, bumps, lumps etc and none seem like mine. Mine seems to be exclusive as they are not blistering bumps or leaking fluid etc. Just felt under skin mostly. Sizes are a bit larger than eight to quarter of inch and bit larger. Finger tip tops where they are also appear reddish often.
I would take a picture but you cannot see much really.

Thanks hope I was not too windy!

Thank you for your comments I have done some more research online after reading your response, I see that the myxoid cysts is also referred to as the mucous cyst otherwise referred to ganglion which I get and this is definitely not the same. Unfortunately the picture I found of a Herberden's node is very much like it and therefore a very scary thought I am in te process of seeking out a dermatologist my insurance covers. As for friction bumps some are under a thin callous like area but I fear it is not the cause as some fingers this would not apply. I use my hands so much and this is the most scary thing for me of all. I cannot imagine losing use or not being able to do the things I do. Osteoarthritis scares the hell out of me and as most pictures I had found before were very unlike this I had hoped to hear something else. Just seems odd they just all of a sudden were there, though I suspected as I said that they probably just came to my attention when they got larger. I will keep you posted on what the doctor says after my appointment. Thanks for your help.

Hello,
One possibility that can present with such lumps on the fingers is myxoid cyst. It is a growth usually occurring on the finger. These cysts are believed to form from deteriorated tissues. The other possibility is of friction bumps or calluses . The last possibility is of Heberden’s nodes. It is found in the last finger joints and is found in osteoarthritis.

My sincere advice is to consult a dermatologist and get it evaluated. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
