Make it stop!

Like most so glad to hear that I am not the only person. Although it said to hear no Dr has a good answer.  I've had this problem for 4 years now. I first got this when I was at New York city on a school trip i just shaved my legs got out of the tub dried them with a towel and BAM i started icing like crazy this was in MARCH.  Then I was getting tanned for a school dance and it happened again and this was in February of the next year.  Then IT happened again i went tanning and stay too long and inchy pin and needle feeling which was about April.  Then now this year its March and it happened again and i can not find a reason.  AT first we thought my meds were reacting when i went tanning so i haven't tanned since then but now out of the blue i stated icing again.  The only thing I see common is that i get these spells around the same time of year. They last 1 to 2 days and sometimes i can bear it and sometimes all i can to is cry. I've missed school before bc I couldn't take it .  And i don't miss school. I do take bendryl that seems to at least calm me down and help a little.  I found taking a extremely hot shower then once getting out put tons of GOLD BOND MAXIMUM RELIEF helps once it dries gives me relief for about 2 -3 hrs .. Also taking mini ice baths works.  I fill the tub to where it covers my legs with extremely cold water and i feels great but only last about 10 after getting out of the tub. I am going to the drs soon bc this is just insane... Since mine seems to happen around the same time of year maybe mine is an allergy.  I thought it only happened when I tanned but ovbiously not.  Wishing you all the best of luck

Yes it was in a tanning bed but this ich pins and needle pain does not come with a rash.  And when I shave I just you body wash and I have used different ones. I also put lotion on everyday the stuff for dry skin.  I really only really think tanning is the one to blame because this "ich" only has happened once a year and it has been around the begining of spring end of winter.  I am looking in to reaction with sun and my medication which I sure has alot to do with this.  Thanks for your suggestions.

You mentioned tanning. I assume this was done on a tanning bed.
Almost half the people I have met get rashes from using these.
Fair haired/skinned people seem to have a worse time of it.

As for the shaving part...it could be the cream you used, it could be the way you shaved...you should always shave in a downward motion...which most women fail to do. When you shave in the wrong direction it causes the hairs, ( which are still under the skin ) to "poke" into the skin...causing the itching.
Try using a cream hair remover or shaving in a downwards motion and see if this happens again.
If, after shaving in a downward motion, and it happens again, try a different brand of shaving cream.
Another reason for itchy legs is dry skin. Try moisturizers and see if this helps. Itches due to dry skin are worse in the dry winter months.
If this is the culprit, avoid baths and stick to showers. Water is bad for dry skin....weird but true.
Sensitivity to laundry detergents or fabric softeners could be the culprit too.
