In Feb this year I noticed a few little pimples...tiny ones..appearing on my forehead (i would always refer to them as make up spots because they would only appear if i changed my make up or if it needed renewing) they were very close to my hairline.
I had a big event coming up so i decided to go on the sunbed to try and clear them up. I dont go on very often.. just once or twice every few months if I have something coming up and want to make sure I have no breakouts as this usually prevents any. However instead of clearing them up they began to get worse.
Over a few weeks i started getting them all over my cheeks and then eventually they began to travel down either side of my neck. I tried all sorts of creams and washes like clearasil, clear complexion, neutogena etc but nothing was working.
At that same time I was having problems with my scalp too, My head was very dry and itchy but when scratching my scalp i could feel that my skin was actually covered in oil and large boils. a few weeks in i then began to get really bad dandruff so I brought some special shampoo for my head to try and ease the itchyness and clear the dandruff.
I am very much like my grandmother was, and suffer from eczema and this too seemed to be flaring up on my elbows to the point where it was cracking and bleading and then my lips began to dry and crack to the point where talking was causing me pain. All of this was causing me a huge amount of stress and discomfort so I decided to go on a shopping trip and buy loads of vitamins and decent stuff for my skin. I went into clinique and asked for her opinion and she advised that it sounded like something was wrong inside and should see a doctor... and so i did.
I showed the doctor how my forehead, cheeks and neck had tiny little pimples over it, almost a rash type of problem and told him about my head and elbows. he checked everything a told me that the problem with my elbows and scalp was scoriasis so he gave me a shampoo to clear it up and then put me on tablets for my skin. I do not remember the name of the tablets though.
a couple of months and 2 courses of the tablets later my skin still had not cleared up, it had got better after the first but then came back even more once i had stopped taking them which is why i had another course. One day whilst i was off work I decided to sit in the garden with my little boy and the day after I noticed that i started getting these red spots over my chest aqnd the ones on my face had started going red so I went back to my own doctor who said that the rash on my face was a reaction to the sun. she gave me betnovate RD Cream and put me on doxyxycline claiming that everything would clear right up and not to let it get me down.
a couple of months later my skin still had not began to show signs of clearing up so I went back to see a different doctor who gave me Zineryt lotion, and also claimed that this would clear it right up but weeks later my skin had only got worse.. and was oozing oil but was dry underneith it.
Last week I went back to my doctor who had origionally said it was a reaction to the sun and she told me that I had to come off the doxycycline and Zineryt Lotion as both of them were making my skin more sensitive to the sun. I was confused as it was her that had put me on Doxycycline in the first place. She told me use Dalacin T Topical Lotion and again... said it would clear it up. I was also put on the mini pill dianette but suffer terrible side effects so had to stop taking it after 4 days.
I decided to go back to Clinique as I had done a lot of research myself and found that the little lumps could be caused from the excess oil build up in my pores so I needed to make sure this was being removed regularly. The lady suggested using the 3 step cleansing products (which cost £45) but asked me to go back 2 weeks later so she could see if it had helped and if there was no sign of improvement she will refund me my money. To look at me head on you cant really see these pimples as they are usually skin coloured but at at angle you can see my face is covered!
I have been taking some iron tablets on and off over the last 6 months as i was told that cracking lips is a sign of an iron deficiency and I have had problems with aenemia before and this has helped my lips get better but once again my lips are very sore and swollen, my skin is worse than ever, my forehead is sore and itchy from the amount of different things i am using and I am very worried about going on holiday in 2 weeks. Since using the clinique i have noticed that the pimples are now coming out into tiny spots so it must be bringing out the rubbish like she said but i just want to know why this is happening:(
