Is it normal for a doctor to prescribe clindamycin and bactrim at the same time for a facial rash?

Bactrim is usually used in respiratory infections and urinary tract infections. It can also be used in skin infections. Be careful before its use since it may cause allergic reactions in few people.Clindamycin is a lincosamide antibiotic which is used to treat infections with anaerobic bacteria, some protozoal diseases, acne, and against some methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infections.  The common side effects are diarrhea, pseudo membranous colitis, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain or cramps, rash, and itch. What is the cause of facial rash in your case? Discuss with your doctor the reason for prescribing two antibiotics at the same time. It is best that you see a dermatologist for further evaluation. A complete medical history and physical examination of the rash/lesions is important to determine t he diagnosis.
