(Mental supports needed) Is having flat warts a serious skin condition?

Dear all,

I am totally depressed because I have recently found that I may have got the flat warts. Not yet confirmed by doctor but i am pretty sure it is it.
They first appeared as a cluster of more than 15 raised skin-color bumps on the back of my hands. At first, I thought they were only sort of a sebum-enlargement-induced problem. Being tired of the way they looked, I popped them out with my finger nails, squeezing out a somewhat clear liquid. 2-3 weeks later they had all been dried up and were not that raised anymore. However, I noticed that they just left a dark skin tone behind. The color just did not go away like those dried up acne having been squeezed. I also started to notice a few more raised bumps emerging. They are more scattered this time but it is still scary to me as it seems they are spreading on my hands and arms.

I don't know where I got it from. My first guess would be getting it from the gym-room equipments when my hands were totally dry because of the cold whether which I believe to be the cause of making my skin exposed to the virus.

Please help. In these days i have been googling on that and I am shocked by how terrible they could get. (No means to scare off people who are having it. I maybe wrong. Please correct me)

Those on my hands look like it: http://www.szpfb.com/pfkjb/UploadFiles_1443/201011/2010112217092370.jpg

Could anyone, perhaps with his/her experience, tell me if it is really a terrible skin disease?
I read that they could re-appear after they've gone and could spread from one place to another.
Please tell me that it is not as terrible as it sounds.

Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Additional info:
Could it due to allergic reaction? But they don't seem to subside if i don't pop them out.
I did have hand sterilizer after I started using hand sterilizer. I started using it because I was afraid that i might have genital warts which were later confirmed to be not by doctor.

I wouldn't get depressed over anything until you know what the doctor has said! I got diagnosed with pityriasis rosea, but first I look at Google and people were saying it was an allergic reaction to HIV or AIDs! I didn't tell anybody, which didn't really help. Google images is a bad place to look, as everybody is different and everybody's skin reacts differently to the same thing. Keep your chin up and you'll be fine :D!xo

If flat warts treatment is sought in time, there is significantly less chances of flat warts progressing to either tumors or cancers and the more serious stage of malignancy. The problem however, is that most people suffering with flat warts, do not experience pain or any symptoms that could compel them to seek medical intervention at an early stage. As usually the case, people seek medical treatment when pain, burning or bleeding occurs, by which time the flat warts may have progressed to the ‘clusters’ stage as well as in their size and number. This is precisely why people suffering from flat warts must seek medical help as soon as the little bumps are seen.

I'm not so sure that is what you have, however you should see a doctor to be sure.
