Mole Excision Redness

I had a mole removed from my forehead 2 months ago but the surrounding area is still red. Not as red as on day 1 but is still red. Is this common because am getting worried after reading that the redness should disappear in 2-4 weeks. It's been up to 8 week for me and it's still there.

I know it's not an infection but just wanted to know if this is fine and will eventually clear up. I do have acne which have been kept under control with my antibiotics and face is practically clear except in a few little areas.

Hello,
Sorry replied to an earlei question first. Redness after mole excision should disappear within two to four weeks but if it persists then apply calamine lotion and get it evaluated for any infection of the area. Any persisting bacterial infection can cause redness, pain and sometimes pus formation.

I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep us posted on how you are doing. Kind regards.

Hello,
Flat warts are benign tumors of the epidermis and usually occur in children. They are about the size of a pinhead and usually appear on the face, but can also appear on arms, knees, or hands. Several medications(like podophyllum resin, Podofilox (Condylox), Trichloroacetic and bichloroacetic acids, Imiquimod 5% cream and interferons) are available, which can be applied directly to the surface of the warts.Other treatment options include electrical cautery, surgical removal, Carbon dioxide laser treatment and electrodesiccation.

In my opinion you should talk to a cosmetologist/dermatologist about this and get these warts evaluated. I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep us posted on how you are doing. Kind regards.
