(lighter brown and jagged on the edges and dark and raised in the middle). Our dermatologist recommended removal and referred us to a plastic surgeon. The plastic surgeon also thought it should be removed. He explained it would be a 'football' shaped cut
so that it would sew up in a straight line. I reluctantly went ahead with the removal (pathology was normal). It's been several months now and her scar is much bigger and wider than I expected. The freckle/mole itself was 4mm. Her scar is about 1" long and 1/4" wide and quite pink (it's flat and smooth). I feel like I scarred her little body for no reason. I rub Mederma several times a day. Is this normal? Will is disappear over time? Thanks in advance for any responses.
