Mole Removal (2 weeks ago)

Mole Removal (2 weeks ago)

Hello,

About 2 weeks ago I had a mole removed from my back. I forgot to apply oitment on it after it was removed and I fear that it is going to scar. Since it scabbed up the doctor said it is too late to apply it. I have 2 questions:

1)  Did I make a big mistake of not applying it. Would it have prevented a scar?
2)  Is there anything I can do now at this time to reduce/ or not have a scar?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hello,
The scars of mole removal should fade after some days. Apply vitamin E on this scar and it should go away after some days. If the scar persists then the possibility of post inflammatory hyperpigmentation should be evaluated. The treatment for post inflammatory hyperpigmentation includes various skin creams like hydroquinone, azelaic acid, corticosteroids, tretinoin cream and laser treatment. If it still persists then you can go in for laser treatment, Chemical peeling or microdermabrasion.
Hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries. Warm regards.
