Mole or rash on penis

Hi,

About 4 or 5 months ago, I noticed a flaky dark brown mole/rash between the glans (glands) of the penis and foreskin.  It was primarily on the "ring" of the penis (about 1/2 cm wide) and the outer parts of it were white. I went to my GP who did not think it was anything serious and prescribed me some topical cream.  I used the cream and the rash seemed to subside somewhat.  A couple weeks ago, I noticed the mole/rash was still there and it had gotten a little darker. The mole/rash does not itch, is not tender, does not ulcerate. I remember my GP telling me that sometimes these skin rashes can occur for no reason and stay there.

My concern is what if this mole/rash turns out to be penile cancer or a melanoma.  I am 23 years old, was circumsized during infancy, and am Asian descent.  

Should I use another round of the topical cream or go to a urologist? I am pretty concerned now.

I think you should show the spot to a dermatologist (or urologist.)  It does not sound serious at all, but it will take a physical look to be sure.  Penile cancer doesn't occur in uncircumcised men.  Since irritation is likely to be a factor, you're best off minimizing friction till you're examined.
