Molluscum contagiosum

Molluscum contagiosum

For those looking to rid of this horrid skin condition ... I have been dealing with it for nearly 7 years!!  7 years because my oldest contracted it at 1.5 years via day care and passed it on to his younger brother via bathing.  We are still not free of this annoying and highly contagious skin infection... but... at some point you need to be proactive.  When my oldest child entered kindergarten, with force, I popped the larger molluscum and froze a few others (via a wart freezing method).  His immune system finally reacted and he cleared up fairly quickly.  The younger son, by 2.5 years, sadly; I, was unable to utilize such archaic methods ... so, the molluscum remained for another 2.5 years, despite going to the dermatologist and applying topical ointments ( for over 2 years). Finally, I said enough, and popped the largest molluscum head residing on my youngest child on his right side of his belly.  Cleaned it with alcohol wipes (at least 3), and sanitized my hands.  This large one finally went away.  He has four left, and repeated the same steps with  two others located on his right side of his forehead.   We moved from a Puerto Rico which has high humidity to NM with low humidity..  This move, kept the molluscum in check... but it ***** dealing with it!!

This discussion is related to molluscum for 16 months now in 40 year old male.

I got these types of warts and the doctor froze some, the small ones went away. I also used a compressed air sprayer can upsidown to freeze them. However, the larger one would not go away.
The doctor recommended a cream which did nothing for me.
Finally I tried applying oregano extract and the thing died in less than a week! Good old nature has all the answers...

Hello,
Molluscum contagiosum is a common, benign, self limiting viral infection of the skin. It generally affects children and typically occurs in the 2-5 age group. Treatment includes physical destruction or manual extrusion of the lesions, cryotherapy, and curettage.
I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
