Molluscum or Papillomatosis?

Molluscum or Papillomatosis?

I have what are very typical symptoms of molluscum. White dome shaped lesion, circular and when inflamed or irrtated give out a waxy discharge which can be squeezed out very similar to a pimple. They are present on my scrotum. My dermatologist excised one of these and got it tested. The result read "domed shaped lesion with prominent papillomatosis." and the  dermatologist kept calling it papillomatosis. Is that another name for Molluscum or is it HPV?

Second part of the question is, He excised all 3 noticable dome shaped lesions and stitched the skin back together, however, the scar tissue at one of the regions of the lesion still itches as if a lesion was present. I looked closely and did not see any lesion? Am I still at risk of spreading molluscum?

Also, there are 2 hardly noticeable lesions, though they cannot be seen with the common eye and can only be felt. Should I have to remove them to as they can be contagious and there is a chance to spread it to my partner I just started dating?

Thanks all for your help

Hello,
Papillomatosis is skin surface elevation caused by hyperplasia and enlargement of contiguous dermal papillae and can be found in a number of conditions like papules, mollsucum, warts , benign skin growths etc. It is not a diagnosis but a histopath or microscopic evaluation.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
