Molluscum question

Molluscum question

I was diagnosed with molluscum today for the bumps that I have been getting for on 2 years now, I notcied them just never went to the doctor for them until today.  He froze off what he saw.  Is there anything I should do at home to help the process of them going away quicker, from what I've read this is a long time to have MC.  Also is it normal that I seem to have no bumps for a period of weeks and then an outbreak, goes away after 1-2 weeks, and it comes back every 2-3 months?  I'd really like to finally get rid of this, but I'm glad to know what it is finally, that my doctor thinks its not herpes, and that I can get rid of it.  Thanks

Hello,
Molluscum contagiosum is a common, benign, self limiting viral infection of the skin. In adults, molluscum infections can transmit from one site to other skin sites by aoutoinocultaion. Treatment includes physical destruction or manual extrusion of the lesions, cryotherapy, and curettage. There is no other preventive measure.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

yea my doctor seemed pretty sure of what it was said that he sees it pretty often.  My only concern was that my pattern of symptoms, having it bumps for 3 weeks, then no bumps for 2 months, and then again bumps, seemed atypical for what Ive read after my doc told me thats what it was?
