Molluscum

Hi, I have a 6 yr old daughter who has had molluscum for a year now.. I have taken her to the dermatologist several times and they all have told me to wait it out.. I am now at my wits end and want to do something to help my daughter. She is becoming very self consious about them. She has them on her cheek, forehead, alot on her eyelids, and under as well. She has them on her chin and has even had them pop up on her lip.. I have read about several creams that are out to try,  and I have read about using the apple cidar vinegar, however with them being on her face, I can't do alot.. Do you have any suggestions??

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Molluscum contagiosum is a common, benign, self limiting viral infection of the skin. It generally affects children and typically occurs in the 2-5 age group. Treatment includes physical destruction or manual extrusion of the lesions, cryotherapy, and curettage.
But these treatment options should be done by a qualified dermatologist as otherwise it may scar.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

There's more information on the above link. Don't try to remove them yourself, they will scar, and it could become infected, or it could spread the virus to other parts of her body or to someone else.

I'm sure if you go to the dermatologist and tell them that they are going to remove them from her face, they will. If they don't, you should look for another dermatologist.
