Mrs.

My husband was diagnosed with shingles of the face days ago - circle around eye. His eye is fine, no damage to cornea.  He has been taking Valtrex.  Now he has a stiff neck and jaw pain.  Is this part of the shingles?  Thank you.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
I suggest you to get an immediate evaluation done from a doctor as stiff neck may be a sign of central nervous system involvement. Any sign of shingles like headache, stiff neck, dizziness, weakness, hearing loss, or changes in your thinking and reasoning abilities should be reported to a doctor.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

It also causes swollen lymph nodes, so that would explain these symptoms.
