Mysterious toe problem

Mysterious toe problem

I started getting this problem on my toe back in spring, like around may. My left big toe started swelling and blood started coming up the sides of the nail. It's swollen now and it bleeds randomly.  Everytime I hit my toe it throbs really bad but I can't feel my toe at all usually. Sometimes it itches. I'm getting really frustrated becuase i've put poroxide on it, i've used hydrocortisone and other creams. I don't wear dirty socks.

I' m scared becuase I don't know what it is and I'm worried that it'll get worse.
I hate showing my feet and I don't have any medical insurance. What should I do?
Do you have any idea what this could be?

I'm not a medical expert or anything, and I'm here for my own foot problems, but it sounds like you might have an ingrown toenail. It happens when the nail grows into the side of your toe. The best thing to do would be to get it taken care of, where depends on how bad it is, and then take care of your toe nails regularly so that it doesn't happen again! Regular pedicures might be the solution, even if you hate showing your feet to people.
