Nasal problem

by dustinbiggs, Jul 31, 2008 08:13PM
I woke up a couple weeks ago and my nose felt kinda weird and the skin was slightly peeling. After a couple days of this it ballooned up and was extremely sore. It looked normal, except for the swelling and it was red. A couple days later you could see the blood as it was about to come through the last layers of skin. I go to the doctor and he comes in for about .2 seconds and looks at is and goes " *grunt* it's an infection." He writes me a prescription for Biaxin and I leave. I go and get it and take it religiously. It does not get any better so I go back. This time I get another doctor. This one actually talks to me about what's going on and says it doesn't look like an infection, but a reaction to something. She prescribes me some steroid cream and says go to the ER if the swelling doesn't go down. I go home, take it and the next day the swelling is down and my nose is not hurting from being twice it's size so I am happy. It starts peeling a lot more and I figure that it's because it stretched when it was swollen. It's over a week later and it's still peeling. The swelling is down, but now it's dried out. Almost immediately after the swelling went down I got sores inside my nose like you get when you have an extremely runny nose. The swelling went from the outside, fleshy part of my nose to the inside of it. It hurts because it is so chapped and it doesn't seem to be getting better. It's only on my nose and I haven't eaten or used any different products than normal. What could it be? These pics are of me right out of the shower, so you can't see the dried skin as well, but you can see the irritation. Hopefully someone has had this before or something, but my doctor can't even figure it out.

Here are some links to the photos because I do not have them on this computer.
