Neck bumps

I think i have a case of Pseudofolliculitis barbae, its been on my neck for about 3years now. the back part of my neck right above my hair line right now im intending to take Avelox (moxifloxacin) tables 400mg and also Desoximetasone usp.25%. Im wondering if thats a good remedy or should i be tryin something diferent or shoud i be opening bumps. Like what should i do because i really dont like it. The bumps go down but not completly and sumtimes after a shave they reappear sometimes even bigger.Is there something else your refer also? Thank You....

Apart from pseudofoliculitis barbae, another possibility that is coming to my mind is of acne keloidalis nucahe. It occurs when hairs on the back of the head and neck grow into the skin, become inflamed, and cause scar tissue. These ingrown hairs usually occur following a short haircut on the back of the head and nape of the neck.

Treatment of AKN includes suppression of the inflammation with antibiotics and steroid gels or intralesional steroid injections. So apply antibiotic cream like Neosporin or bactroban. If the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics and steroids may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case.
