Need Help

Hi Doc,

I had sex with my girlfriend unprotected about 4 months ago. Day after the sex I noticed on the shaft of my penis(where the penis is connected with the body) a tiny bump that looked like a pimple with a white head on it. After the first day more of these bumps that look like pimples started to come up. They were very small and you could pop them, once popped they released a white kind of pus out of it. They would crust over after popped and they would disappear. After they disappeared I though nothing of it. I asked my girlfriend if she was feeling any of these kind of symptoms and she said she didn't feel any of the same symptoms. After about two weeks after the lower shaft of my penis cleared up, me and my girlfriend had sex again unprotected and the same thing happened to me. Day after I noticed one of these tiny bumps with a white head that looks like a pimple that you could pop and white puss would come out.  And the same process happened over again, more of these little bumps that look like pimples occurred and the same process happened over for about 3 weeks. After they disappeared by themselves or some because I popped them the shaft of penis cleared up. The same thing happened the same way the third time we had unprotected sex. This time i  seen some of them in the scrotum area also. Now I wasn't sure if this was a STD or just irritation from the sex. So I decided to get tested. I got tested for seven different STD's four months after the initial unprotected sexual event. The one that I was mostly concerned about was HSV 2. I got tested for Hepatitis's B, C, HSV 1, 2, HIV 1, Chlamydia , Gonohreah and Syphilis. They used a blood test and urine test. For herpes they used Herpes Simplex Virus 1 and 2 IgG, Type Specific Antibody (HerpeSelect®). I came back negative for everything except HSV 1. Now I was wondering do you have any idea what this could be, is it a disease or just bacteria or what?

yo dude i had the same problem with my x gf. the secretions of that girl were somewhat different than i am use to more thick and whitey looking rather thinner and clear. She had been tested and was completely clean and so was i. nothing wrong. I just figurd it was cause i was allergic to her secretions. i have very sensitive skin so i always think that when a pimple shows up. since  we split i have not had any other problems with my new gf.

The HSV 2 (herpes simplex 2) test is quite reliable, so I think you can rule that out.  It does not sound as though what you're dscribing is any kind of STD.  I think you sould leave the shaft of the penis alone so as not to confuse the issue, and that you should show your skin to a doctor next time these bumps come up.  I'm confident that you won't find out anything serious.

Best.
