Need help with a new rash

I am a 30yo male who has a lifelong case of allergies and eczema.  I recently broke out in what looks like a rash on my stomach, chest, armpits, inside elbows and around my crotch.  Also, at times my back feels like I have sunburn.  It all itches horribly usually only when rubbed by clothing.  The rash is red blotches with some areas having raised bumps that when broken puss the clear liquid I get from my eczema.  In recent years, I've become allergic to dust, mold and dust mites and my eczema has spread to my eyes, penis, inner thighs and feet, I used to only break out on my hands.

I have no fever, no spots in my mouth, no sore throat, no appetite problems, no bowel or urinary problems, no swollen glands (which I get from my sinus infections when I have those) and the rash areas feel warm to the touch.  I am on zoloft, flonase and allegra and take a multi-vitamin.  I also take 800mg of motrin most mornings to help ease a chronic sciatic nerve problem.  I also have Elidel 1% and Fluocinonide 0.05% but no where near enough to cover this!  I also have not recently changed soaps or detergents.  I use Dove and Melaluca laundry soap.

I live in the mid-atlantic and the day this started, about a week ago (11/30/03), our temperatures dropped into the 40's and humidity dropped as well.  I also have a dry skin problem, I thought that was the issue at first before the red patches appeared.  I'm thinking that is not it anymore.

My dermatologist can't see me for 3 weeks and I do not currently have a regular MD, I'm looking for one.  Do you think this warrants a trip to the urgent care center or should I wait 3 weeks?

Thanks very much for your assistance.

Your description sounds like eczema.  Since it sounds as though you do not have fever or similar internal symptoms, I think it can wait, but if you're really uncomfortable, you may want to see a doctor sooner if you can.  Meantime, cool baths with oatmeal and antihistamines like Benadryl may help.

Best.

Also...when I itch the area gets warmer and much redder and the patches of red become one large area of redness.  I have also noticed more redness where my clothes contstrict me (my underwear, etc).
