Ok so I know I ventured into paranoid self diagnosis territory, but I'm curious about a possible wart I have on the back of my right thigh. It is well over a hand width from my groin, has a slightly rough surface, and is a pinkish/red color. I've had warts off and on for about 15 years but only on hands/ feet and only 3 at most. I am completely monogamous and have only ever slept with my husband of 6 years. I am entirely certain that he is as well because he has a compromised immune system and any sort of virus could be a disaster for him. My question is: how common or likely is it to have a wart in my location that is NOT std related? I have totally freaked myself out because when I search online 99% of the hits are related to genital warts and I KNOW I haven't put myself in a situation to contract it. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks. :)
Hello,
This growth can be due to a skin tag or a common wart. Warts are small painless growth on skin caused by Human Papilloma Virus. These can be light or dark. They are usually oval in growth and raised forming rough surface in the skin.
I suggest you to get it evaluated from a dermatologist to confirm the diagnosis.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
